Drug Policy
If you are using non-prescribed drugs, the employment specialist is required to report use to your community vocational rehabilitation program . Services will immediately be placed on hold until you are drug free for 30 days and/or assessed as determined by your community vocational rehabilitation program.
Your Rights
Grievance Procedure
- Advance notice of 48 hours for cancellation of meetings.
- Treat employment specialists with respect.
- Be engaged in employment activities.
- Respond to communication within 24 hours.
- Notify the employment specialist of changes to your availability, location, and/or transportation methods.
- If you receive SSI/SSDI, you are responsible for contacting social security administration to determine impacts of benefits prior to employment.

- You have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
- You will not be denied services because of your age, gender, race, spiritual beliefs, ethnic origin, marital status, personal or social beliefs, physical, developmental or mental disability, sexual orientation, HIV status, or financial status.
- You have a right to be free from abuse or neglect.
- You have a right to confidentiality.
- You have a right to know the name and qualifications of your employment specialist.
- You have a right to receive information that will help you make informed decisions.
- You have a right to terminate services at any time.
Grievance Procedure
- Although we seek to provide a workplace in which all clients feel that they are an important part of Garza & Carrillo Consulting, and where clients feel fairly treated, there may be times when you have a dispute with a director or employment specialist or the company which can best be resolved through a formal procedure for dispute resolution. At any time, you have the right to request a new provider.
- Any dispute between you and Garza & Carrillo Consulting may be resolved using the following grievance procedure.
- All grievances must be in writing. You must state clearly and concisely all the known facts related to your grievance, including “who, what, where, when and the why.” Clearly explain why you disagree with an act or omission that forms the basis for the grievance. Also explain what remedy you are requesting. You must sign and date the grievance. The grievance must be submitted within in 30 days of the event and sent to a director for review. The director will respond within 10 business days of receipt. If you are not satisfied with the result, you may contact your community vocational rehabilitation program for further options. You have the right to request a new provider at any time.
